Jorge Díaz-Cardiel, an expert on the U.S. economic and business reality, presented his latest work, “The reinvention of Obama”, published by LID Editorial Empresarial.

This book explains how the first two years of the Obama presidency were a triumph. The President enjoyed an exceptional popularity and was able to push through revolutionary reforms, such as the healthcare and financial reform. But everything changed after the legislative elections of November 2010 won by the Republicans. The United States is today a more conservative country than ever and Obama has had to adapt: he has taken a turn towards the center and has reinvented himself. The greater conservatism of American society, the weak economy and the loss of primacy of the United States as the sole superpower, have become a time bomb that threatens Obama’s possible re-election for a second term in 2012 despite his political and personal reinvention.
